Sing It to Me Santa rocks the house for music programs at Denver Public Schools
“Nothing brings the holiday spirit like a 6-foot-2, Jesus-lookin’ Santa rippin’ a funk lead guitar and stomping about the stage.”
Musician Kyle Wilson’s Facebook post is a fun — and right on the money — description of a Santa Claus suit-wearing Ryan Chrys, who, with steel guitarist Bradley Weaver and acoustic guitarist Bill Nershi, opened Sing It To Me Santa, a wild and super-fun holiday concert that Libby Anschutz, in cooperation with KBCO and Take Note Colorado, started three years ago to fund music education in the Denver Public Schools.
This year, sponsorships alone generated $200,000.

Take Note at JAS Experience – Jazz Aspen Snowmass Partnership
Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) partnered with Take Note Colorado to raise funds and awareness to support music programming in schools in the Roaring Fork Valley. The Experience is a three-day music festival held over Labor Day weekend. From the festival stage, JAS President & CEO, James Horowitz, spoke about the partnership between Take Note and JAS in-schools, raising awareness and funds to support our efforts. JAS in-schools education initiatives complement existing public school music programs and replace programs where schools suffer losses in music education, ensuring that local schools maintain and grow band and music programs in their curriculum.

Velorama Festival Take Note Colorado Stage
Twelve blocks in Denver’s RiNo Art District became a three-day street party in August celebrating biking culture in Colorado as part of the Colorado Classic bike race and Velorama Festival. A Take Note Colorado stage promoted our statewide vision along with performances by Old 97s, The Jayhawks, and Rob Drapkin.
